Calculate the exact amount to draw in your syringe based on your peptide vial, solvent volume, and desired dose.
Reconstitution is the process of dissolving lyophilised (freeze-dried) peptide powder in bacteriostatic water so it can be drawn into a syringe. Take your time, work cleanly, and use the right water — that's the whole job.
Take the vial out of the fridge 15–20 minutes before reconstituting. Adding cold water to a cold peptide can affect stability.
Wipe the rubber stopper of the peptide vial and the bacteriostatic water vial with an alcohol swab. Let them air-dry.
Use a clean syringe to draw the volume of bacteriostatic water you've calculated above (e.g. 2ml). Do not use plain saline, distilled water, or tap water — bacteriostatic water contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol which prevents bacterial growth.
Tilt the peptide vial slightly and inject the water gently down the inside wall. Never spray water directly onto the powder — the force can damage the peptide structure.
Roll the vial between your palms or swirl it gently until the powder fully dissolves. Shaking causes foaming and can denature the peptide.
The solution should be clear and free of particles. If you see cloudiness, undissolved powder, or floating debris, do not use the vial.
Store at 2–8°C in a refrigerator, away from direct light. Properly stored powder remains stable for the duration of the labelled shelf life.
Store the reconstituted vial at 2–8°C and use within 28 days for optimal stability. Keep upright, away from light, and never freeze a reconstituted peptide.
Heat above 25°C, direct sunlight, freeze-thaw cycles after reconstitution, and contamination from non-sterile equipment all degrade peptide stability.
For trips under 24 hours, an insulated cooler with ice packs is sufficient. For longer travel, plan for refrigeration at your destination.
